3-Way Manual Ball Valves

Diverter or Sampling Valves -- Use as 2 inlets or 2 outlets

3-way Ball Valves in PVC and CPVC for acid and other aggressive chemicals

Features:

  1. Reinforced shaft (stem).
  2. Dual o-rings on shaft.
  3. PTFE thrust bearing on shaft.
  4. PTFE seats, pre-energized with o-rings.
  5. Trunnion Design -- top and bottom support of ball. Trunnion design allows closed segment of valve to be disconnected under full line pressure, with no danger of blow-out. Valve cannot be piped in backwards.
  6. Full concentricity and mirror smoothness of ball assures easy, smooth, leakproof operation.
  7. Dual sliding seats, each with triple o-rings.
  8. All three ports are true union for cost, installation time, and space savings.
  9. Flow direction indicator on handle.

    Valve Design:

Valve is ordered with either a two-hole or three-hole ball. The two-hole ball switches from one inlet (or outlet) to the other, with a momentary no-flow condition. The three-hole ball ensures that flow is uninterrupted, with a momentary mixing of flow from the two ports. It is suggested that you specify the two-hole ball if you want to prevent the two streams from mixing, and specify the three-hole ball if you are concerned about dead-heading with a momentary no-flow condition. If you are unsure, you are invited to contact our Technical department for assistance at (973) 256-3000.

3-hole and 2-hole ball selection is determined by application

The bottom trunnion design element is accomplished via a circular thermoplastic sleeve fitted into the bottom hole of the ball. This sleeve locks the ball into the base of the valve, much like the typical trunnion found in the True Blue 2-way valve. After over two decades of proven design superiority, Plast-O-Matic remains the only industrial thermoplastic ball valve manufacturer to employ the trunnion principle. "Blocking" type ball valves, no matter how well designed, will result in uneven strain on the ball and shaft as they are tightened and especially during flow & pressure conditions -- a misaligned ball eventually causes leaks. The trunnion design, on the other hand, assures a perfectly aligned ball.

    Materials of Construction:

Valve body and union materials are Geon® PVC or Corzan® CPVC. Valve seats and bearings are PTFE. Wetted seals are Viton® or EPDM. Steel shaft support is not in wetted area of valve. Valve handle is corrosion-resistant thermoplastic.

    Temperature and Pressure:

Pressure rating for both PVC and CPVC is 175 PSI at 75 degrees F (24 C). Maximum temperature for PVC is 140 degrees F (60 C); maximum temperature for CPVC is 180 degrees F (82 C).

IMPORTANT MUST READ: A two-hole ball is standard with 180º uni-directional rotation. To specify a three-hole ball, please add -A after the part number, for example, TMBV200EPT-CP-A. Model numbers listed above are for THREADED end connectors...if socket ends are desired, change the T in the part number to S. For example, TMBV200EPS-CP.
